Allowing someone to see you, is a choice. A choice to override the bullshit we somehow come to believe about ourselves: we aren’t worthy of being seen. On camera, vulnerability is crucial. Learning to trust direction and how to apply it, takes years. Learning about your body and the way it can help you tell a story. Learning how to unhinge yourself from doubt and risk the exposure. Where the world has taught me to fear exposure, to preserve…my soul relentlessly searches for perspective that reminds me otherwise. Perspective, I’ve learned, is everything.

What do the photographers say?

I am a personal stylist and have had the good fortune of working with Tia of Brush Fire Artistry on a number of occasions. What I find most enjoyable about working with Tia is both the positive attitude she brings to set as well as her capacity and flexibility to be a team player. Tia has a joyous spirit that works well in a group setting and is willing to support the needs of my photoshoot in whatever way she is called upon. Plus, the work she creates is downright STUNNING. She has a great creative eye while also being really good at taking direction. She's enhanced so many of my photoshoots just by being great at what she does and willing to do whatever is needed for the success of the shoot. I look forward to getting to work with her again and cannot recommend her enough!!

“Working with Tia was wonderful. I always appreciate when I find people who are as creative as Tia is. She's so fun and open minded! On our photoshoot, we went for a dark queen look and she nailed it. I can't wait to work with her again.”
